Halle, a university city with an international flair
The City of Halle is vibrant with student life. About 1500 foreign students provide Halle with an international flair. In the last few years, the number of foreign students has been continually increasing; they are most welcome and well regarded at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. That is why the university goes to great lengths to make them feel as welcome as possible. Foreign students can always go the Office for Foreign Students (Akademisches Auslandsamt) if they have any problems and the Centre for International Student Management offers a wide range of services and support to help foreign students manage and cope with their new situation in a foreign city. If foreign students ever find themselves in unexpected serious difficulties or become ill, there is an organization that helps students in such emergency situations: “Verein Hilfe für ausländische Studierende e. V.” (The Society for Aiding Foreign Students Abroad)
