PhD Finalisation Grants

Note:

Unfortunately, no more funds will be available for PhD Finalisation Grants from 2023. Therefore, it will not be possible to submit an application until further notice. If funds become available again, we will inform you on this page.

Aim and purpose

Within the framework of the DAAD-funded "PhD Network" project, international doctoral candidates from MLU who are in the final phase of their doctorate have the opportunity to apply for PhD finalisations grants once a year. The PhD finalisation grants are intended to help international doctoral candidates who, through no fault of their own, find themselves in financial difficulties to complete their doctorate. Funding is provided over a period of up to 6 months at a rate of 500.00 € per month. The scholarships are sponsored by the DAAD with funds from the Federal Foreign Office (AA).

Application requirements

A prerequisite for funding is that the doctoral candidate has performed well, stays in Germany during the scholarship period and a successful completion of the doctorate can be expected within a maximum of one year from receipt of the application.

Application

Applications for PhD finalisation grants have to be submitted to the International Office of the MLU. The application procedure has been digitized, please submit your application via the Contactus portal.
