Overview

General Information

Academic Year

The academic year at MLU Halle-Wittenberg is divided into 2 semesters:

  • winter term (01.10. - 31.03.)
  • summer term (01.04. - 30.09.)

Courses in winter term are running until the end of January/ beginning of February and are directly followed by the exam period. Courses in summer term last until July followed again by an exam period.

To be able to participate in an exam the course has to be successfully completed by the student. Most of the courses available run for 1 semester, a few even for 2 semesters. In that case exams always take place in July/August.

Financial Support for Degree Seeking Students

STIBET-Degree Scholarship(Graduation Scholarship)

The International Office of Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg is awarding scholarships from DAAD funds. Main objective of the scholarship is to support qualified international students financially in order to allow them to concentrate exclusively on writing their final thesis and finishing their studies successfully.

The scholarship will grant 300 euros a month for up to 5 months.

You are welcome to submit your application for winter term 24/25 (funding period: September 2024 through January) by July 8, 2023, 4:00 p.m.
